Labor Day

By Erica and Karen

We were so hoping for a return to normal after Labor Day. We would have really enjoyed the weekend if we knew we would be getting back to our office after a final summer fling.

But the fling goes on, and we are discouraged. Many friends in other countries are eating out, their children are going back to school, and they are even contemplating entertainment venues, while we see more deaths, and more drama, and little progress.

We honor the labor movement on this holiday, and we find ourselves asking what the country might look like had labor not lost its power as a movement.

But perhaps workers have found new power, as we all realize how important they are to our civilized lives.

On this holiday weekend, let’s consider how workers, partnering with business, might propel our country forward.
